This Privacy Policy explains how Rosey Skin collects, uses, stores and shares personal information across our online store, our communications and the Rosey Skin Journal.

Rosey Skin is operated by Coreena Duncan, ABN 79 161 557 644, trading as Rosey Skin. In this policy, Rosey, we, us and our refer to that business.

The Short Version

Rosey collects the information needed to process and deliver orders, respond to your questions and send the communications you have chosen to receive. Our website and service providers also process technical and usage information so the store can function, stay secure and improve over time.

Your private Rosey Skin Journal entries stay on your device. Rosey does not collect or read your redness ratings, triggers, mood, gratitude notes or free-text entries. The Journal sends limited feature-use analytics, and your email address is passed to Klaviyo only if you choose to join the Rosey list.

Rosey works with service providers including Shopify, Klaviyo, Plausible Analytics and Open-Meteo. Some of these providers process information outside Australia. Rosey does not sell personal information.

You can contact Rosey at any time to ask what information we hold about you, request access or correction, unsubscribe from marketing, or make a privacy complaint.

1. Who We Are

Rosey Skin is operated by Coreena Duncan, ABN 79 161 557 644, trading as Rosey Skin, of Office 3018, 470 St Kilda Road, Melbourne VIC 3004.

This policy applies to roseyskin.co, the Rosey online store, Rosey communications and the Rosey Skin Journal web app. It will also apply to the Rosey Skin Journal apps for iPhone and Android once released, subject to any additional notice shown in those apps.

2. Information We Collect

Contact and order information

Depending on how you interact with Rosey, we may collect your name, email address, phone number, billing and delivery addresses, communication preferences, products ordered, order value, transaction status, delivery and tracking details, returns, refunds, guarantee requests and customer care messages.

Payments

Payment details are processed by Shopify and the payment providers available at checkout. Rosey receives the order and transaction information made available through Shopify so we can confirm and manage your purchase.

Website and marketing information

The store and its service providers may process information such as IP address, browser and device type, operating system, pages viewed, referral source, dates and times of visits, cart and checkout activity, cookie identifiers, consent records, email preferences and engagement with Rosey communications.

Information you choose to provide

If you contact Rosey, enter a promotion, attend an event, complete a survey or otherwise communicate with us, we collect whatever information you choose to include. Please do not send detailed medical records or other highly sensitive information through a general website form.

3. How We Collect and Use Information

Rosey collects information directly from you, automatically through the website or Journal, from our ecommerce and technical service providers, and from platforms through which you choose to interact with Rosey.

We use this information to process and deliver orders, manage payments and returns, provide customer care, send service and marketing communications, run promotions, operate and secure the website and Journal, understand product and feature use, prevent fraud or misuse, meet legal and accounting obligations, and manage legal claims.

Rosey does not purchase third-party marketing lists. Rosey does not use the contents of your private Journal entries, because that content is never sent to us.

4. The Rosey Skin Journal

Private entries

The daily record you create in your Journal is stored on your device. This includes your redness ratings, selected triggers, mood, gratitude and free-text notes. Rosey does not collect or read that content and cannot recover it for you.

The Journal does not currently offer cloud sync for private entries. Clearing your browser or app data, deleting the app, or moving to a new device without creating a backup may remove your entries permanently.

Feature-use analytics

The Journal uses Plausible Analytics to record limited feature-use events, such as a check-in being saved, which screen was opened, a streak milestone, a reminder or backup action, an App Lock action, a waitlist signup, or a backup reminder. Depending on the event, this may include the screen name, reminder method or number of days in a streak.

These analytics never include the redness rating, triggers, mood, gratitude or free-text notes stored in an entry.

Email and the Rosey list

If you choose to join Rosey, your email address is sent to Klaviyo and used for the communications described at sign-up. Joining the list is separate from your private Journal entries. You can unsubscribe through the link in any marketing email.

Backups and dermatologist exports

Backup files and PDF reports are created on your device and saved or shared wherever you choose. Rosey does not receive them unless you deliberately send them to us or someone else.

App Lock and reminders

App Lock credentials, passcode information and reminder settings are stored or handled on your device or its operating system. Rosey does not receive your fingerprint, facial recognition data or passcode.

Optional weather

If you allow the weather feature, your device coordinates are sent to Open-Meteo to request local weather and UV information, and may be cached on your device. Rosey does not attach your name or email address to that request. You can decline location access and continue using the Journal.

Guided content

The Journal includes guided meditations and other content from Rosey. Analytics may record that a screen or feature was opened, but Rosey does not infer a medical condition from that activity.

5. Cookies and Analytics

The Shopify store uses cookies and similar technologies to operate the site, remember your choices, maintain security, and process carts and checkouts, and, where enabled, to measure performance or support marketing.

Rosey uses Plausible Analytics for website and Journal usage reporting. Plausible processes page-view, device and technical information along with the limited custom events described above. It does not use cookies or persistent advertising identifiers for its standard analytics, and Rosey does not receive an identifiable visitor profile from Plausible.

The website loads fonts from Google Fonts. Requesting a font sends your device's IP address to Google's servers as part of that request.

The live cookie notice and privacy controls must reflect the tools actually enabled on the store. You can use the available privacy controls or your browser settings to manage cookies, although some store functions may then be unavailable.

6. Marketing Communications

Rosey sends marketing communications when you have chosen to receive them, or where otherwise permitted by law. Klaviyo processes subscriber profiles, consent records and communication activity on Rosey's behalf.

You can unsubscribe through the link in any marketing email. Rosey may still send non-marketing messages needed to complete an order, respond to a request, or provide important service information.

7. When We Share Information

Rosey may share personal information with providers that help us operate the store, process payments, prevent fraud, deliver orders, manage customer care, send communications, provide analytics or technical support, and obtain professional legal, accounting, insurance or business advice.

We may also share information where required or authorised by law, to protect Rosey or another person's rights or safety, or as part of a proposed or completed sale, restructure or transfer of the business. Rosey does not sell personal information.

8. Overseas Processing

Some Rosey providers process or allow access to information outside Australia. Based on our current core services, this includes Canada, the United States, Ireland and Singapore through Shopify, the United States through Klaviyo (with limited staff access from Australia, Ireland, Singapore and the United Kingdom), and the European Union through Plausible Analytics. Additional locations may apply through subprocessors and other providers.

Rosey will take the steps required by applicable law when disclosing personal information overseas.

9. Retention and Security

Rosey keeps personal information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this policy, including legal, tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, dispute and record-keeping requirements. Different records have different retention periods. We may keep an unsubscribe record so we can continue to respect your choice.

Private Journal entries remain on your device until you delete them or clear the relevant local data. Rosey cannot delete or recover content it does not hold.

Security

Rosey takes reasonable administrative, technical and physical steps to protect the information it holds. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. If an incident occurs, Rosey will assess and respond to it in accordance with applicable law, including the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme where it applies.

10. Access, Correction and Deletion

You can ask Rosey for access to the personal information we hold about you, request a correction, or ask us to delete information where available and appropriate. Email hello@roseyskin.co with Access request, Correction request or Deletion request in the subject line.

Rosey may need to verify your identity before responding, and may retain information where required by law or reasonably needed for legal or administrative purposes. Private Journal entries are controlled entirely on your device and cannot be accessed, corrected or deleted by Rosey.

11. Privacy Complaints

If you have a privacy concern, email hello@roseyskin.co with Privacy complaint in the subject line and include enough detail for us to understand the issue. Rosey will acknowledge the complaint, investigate it and respond within a reasonable period.

If you remain dissatisfied and the Privacy Act applies, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

12. Children and Changes

The Rosey store and Journal are not designed to collect personal information from children without appropriate involvement from a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has provided information without appropriate permission, contact Rosey.

Rosey may update this policy as our products, services, providers or legal obligations change. The revised policy will be published on this page with an updated date. If a change materially affects information already collected, Rosey will take reasonable steps to provide additional notice where appropriate.
